Dustin Zorn’s work is concerned with live electronic setups in which the musical material is generated from the relationships between the musicians, the electronics, the setup and the concert space. The functions of the components of these sounding bodies are constantly redefined as the pieces progress. The result is music that creates its form by oscillating between the spatial, theatrical aspects of its creation and the joy of musical detail. This perspective resonates in his instrumental compositions as well as in his purely electronic pieces.

Every technological and compositional tool leaves a trace. Analysing and reflecting on these traces in one’s own work and in the work of others opens up perspectives and long-term methods for artistic projects and reflection.
